@FingerPuppetYT He was the only one with bullets. Actually, that part is unrealistic. I heard in boot camp ammo is locked down by the drill seargent. But if Pyle did steal or smuggle ammo, or broke into the ammo locker, then he would be the only one with a loaded gun, hence everyone else would die.

Pyle has to look at it this way, it could've been worse. He's lucky he got off with just being beating with soap. If Hartman had lead the party, it probably would've been rocks and he would've continued to beat him until he stopped crying one way or the other.
