    this is a good start to tackling the problem of oil spills. i'd like to see this whole endeavor reach farther.

    Good vid. Question: Would used engine oil contain traces of metal (from cylinder damage/corrosion/silt pick up) that would prevent it from being attracted to the sponge? If it were used in oil spills, would it not be more realistic to test unused oil?
