  • Great version of this oft-done song - this time, by the great Hank. This song inherently requires the skills of a good-quality yodeller .. and in this department, Hank was in fine form when he recorded this song. Did "Mothers Best Flour" ever end up evolving into "Martha White's" ? "Goodness Gracious, It's Good !!". Great posting !! Congrats !!

  • Never heard this Hank Williams verion of this song. Thank you.

  • @ike2729 Hank never played either one of these songs on the grand ole opry I guarantee it, the only times he sang anything that wasnt one of his own songs on the opry was " let the spirit descend" which he sang in honor of Uncle Dave Macon who passed away that day on 3/22/1952..

  • the is the best

  • good ole fashioned country at it's finest! I MISS OLE HANK SR.! just a tinge of racism in the lyrics just how i like it. GIT R DONE WITH THE GOOD LORD WILLIN AND THAT CRICK DUN RISE!

  • i have a old tape of hank singing this song on the grand ole opry, he tore the crowd up that night.

  • Hank could just do it in a way no one else did or does. We'll never see his likes again.

  • If you got the blues let Hank Sr. and this song cry them out for you.

  • great song.. HANK WILLIAMS IS THE SOUL OF COUNTRY!!!
