One thing everyone should be aware of is that seizures are not always a sign of epilepsy. I have a tumor in the left motor cortex of my brain, which causes focal seizures on the right side. Unlike some times of seizures, these rarely result in loss of consciousness, but are extremely painful, feeling very much like an electric shock. There is utterly no control over the limbs involved, and I have even drawn blood when my fingernails were slightly long, by clenching my fist so tightly.
