Britain's Declaration of War Speech

In 1939, Britain and France gave Germany and Hitler a chance to take some amount of land back, but not Poland. In 1938 as you see in one of the pictures, the British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain came back with a signed treaty promising peace from Germany.

But Chamberlain was betrayed. On 1st September, Hitler sent an army to invade Poland and it proved successful. Chamberlain had no choice but to declare war on Germany. So the next day, Britain and France declared war. There were talks about aiding Poland, but no such action was taken.

Soon Germany captured France along with most of Europe, and Neville Chamberlain was forced to resign. He then died a few months later.

That the Allies did. Germany had to pay back war debts and they took part of Germany and gave it to the Poles.

@1WildlandFirefighter you must be German...and have no clue about the real history......Hitler attacked Poland on 1st. of September 1939 and Britain and France DECLARED war Germans on 3rd. of September 1939 but NOT ATTACKED .....wow..you have no clue..read books on history..any books!.........Allies also did not take half of the Germany and gave it to Poland you IDIOT!...it was German that enslaved Poland for 123 years with Russia and Austria you dope!

If you don't believe me about the Poles treatment to ethnic Germans who were left in that part of Poland before WWII (BEFORE HITLER INVADE) (which was Germany before WW1) then look it up.

Poland ceased to exist as a nation until after WW1.

Hitler wanted to stall Stalin because Stalin had already conquered Eastern Europe and begin to mass genocide everyone. Look up the Holodomar massacre.

Plus Russia had many influence in Eastern Europe (Poland, etc); which also came Pro-Communist slavs.

But also many Slavs volunteered and join the Wehrmacht, etc as did Jews. This is because they wanted to.

Germany didn't start WW2. Britian declared War thus starting WW2. ;) Guess you don't know history do you.

The Germans also didn't start WW1. The Serbia national assassinated the Austrian prince thus the war began because of the Serbs assassination of the Price.

If the Allies didn't take Germany and gave half of it to the Poles then Hitler wouldn't have went. You see, after WW1 the Allies wanted to ashame Germany and many Poles beginning killing and hurting Germans

@1WildlandFirefighter .. at Tehran Poles were betrayed by Brits and USA and already decided Poland's fate by promising it to Stalin! Poles were not even aware of it, fighting alongside "Allies" all over the world and losing 6 million people in the process. After the WW2 when Soviets took over, several more millions of Poles were killed on the spot or send to Siberia. Only great general Patton and to some degree General Eisenhower objected being great admirers of Poles.

@honoriseverything Poles were betrayed during WW2 by Brits and French who did not come to Poland'd defense even thought they SIGNED military alliance with Poland.("phony war"). The sad part is, that those "allies" asked Poland not to build up their defenses nor mobilize their military prior to WW2 since they were afraid that Hitler would use that as provocation. .....allies had no honor.....during the war Hitler than attacks Stalin and what happens?? Allies kiss his ass and betray Poland again

@1WildlandFirefighter cont.......Germans, Russians and Austro-Hungarian empire forced Poles to join their respective armies and since Germans and Russians especially kept fighting each other, Poles had to shoot Poles. Thanks God Germans were stupid enough to start the WW2 with the rest of Europe and got their asses handed to them. FINALLY..after 123 years Poland was free getting THEIR land back. Within 20 years they became 4th most powerful economy in Europe. Than Germans and Soviets attacked.

@1WildlandFirefighter Germany (at that time called Prussia) attacked Poland together with Russia and Austro-Hungarian empire in 1772 and partitioned (divided between themselves) Poland for 123 years .....they did not allow Poles to learn their own language, culture etc., killing anyone who resisted. Thanks to bravery and love of their country, Poles build a system of underground educational system and fought intruders anyway possible.
