This version is so much funkier and raw than Al Green's version. I've been a fan of Syl Johnson for many years, since first hearing him in the 1970s, and this recording offers ample proof as to why. The Hi Records studio band never sounded better than when they were playing behind Syl.
The rhythm on al green's is a bit slower and sexier. Also, it's dedicated to little jr parker, a genius singer in its own times.
