The Cherohala Skyway: The skyway is a state-maintained highway. It is a 2-laned road with wide shoulders and 15 scenic overlooks. Along the way you can expect minimum cell phone coverage, limited toilet facilities, picnic sites, trailheads for hiking, and a wide variety of traffic types ranging from motor homes to bicycles. Some grades are as steep as 9% along the skyway. The trip across the skyway takes about 2 hours. Food and fuel stations are available in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, and in Robbinsville, North Carolina. Check the "seasons" on this site to find out about activities and weather expectations during your visit.

thank you and i enjoy it ever time i go up there! to walk up there,,then i drive back to the beach to have some thing to eat,, then i drive on the sky way .. i love the fall time up there to see all the color's

i had friends that came to see me and they wanted to see it up there ! so i toke them up there they have never been in the mountains before .i say ooo but they love it .i hope you enjoy my video , have a great day Michael

i'm from toledo,ohio and i love the mountains here in tenn ... plz don't run down yankees ok. there are good ones and bad ones too ../ i have meet a lot of ppl down here that are very rude ! ..i'm a very careing man i love being outside ..i want to see the mountains stay clean and the shit, i see on the roads make me sick ! it's the low life that don't care ...

I know cherokee is huge, but for the first time, im going to explore this magical place, does anyone know some good spots to explore in the tenn area, hard to find info on the area from the internet. thanks

HI yes its a very big places to see i love going up in the mountains to walk around there spring time is coming very soon thats the best time to see all the flowers coming up if you drive MAKE SURE you take the Cherohala Skyway it's a view that you will never forget and take your time to see the sites here in tenn waterfalls too

I love cherokee...I usually camp up in Devil's Point about every weekend in the summer
