Ford is trying to pass off a glorified station wagon as a "crossover" in the fle. Whatever you want to call it there are some good and not so good features to it. However Bumper2Bumpertv thinks it needs to go on a diet!!!
This is by far one of the worst reviews i have ever seen. The narrator imo went into the review with a biased mind set, it seems to me he didn't like the Flex to start with, thats fine he in titled to his opinion but you can't show you don't like a vehicle in a review. you can say things you don't like about it, but put at least a few things you do like about the vehicle in there as well i mean come on!
Not a very informative review. I wish deleting the 3rd row of seats were an option, allowing more cargo space & less weight, but the seats will come in handy when I need to carry more peeps. Until then, I'll just leave them folded flat. I just ordered an Ecoboost Flex. I think it'll fill the niche between small SUV, minivan and large SUV nicely. My opinion: Minivans are nerdy, small SUVs are a waste of time (might as well have a car) & full size SUVs are too big for most needs.
Bumper 2 bumper is wrong Ford official moniker for the flex is "A alternative shape to a station wagon" Their suv is the Edge. So this car is for soccer mom's i am sure they use the power gate all he time with their arms full of kids. Here in Utah were everybody has 5 kids or more, there are only 1 flex available in the whole state. Ordering one (what I did) is 12 weeks out because of demand.
What an awful, negative review. Perhaps you should get someone with some automotive experience to write it up and you can narrate it in that nasally N.Y. accent of yours?
I drive around kids daily and would like something a bit more fun AND luxurious to drive than a minivan and not a total gashog like an SUV. This fits the bill and it's quite unique.
I'm sorry, that was a horrible review and a disservice to your profession.
You are right. The Flex is not a competitor to a modern minivan. It is far superior. The Flex and the Traverse have more space and more style than a minivan. Gen-X parents don't want their big sister's minivan.
GM Lambda now has a usable roof rack thanks to Yakima's Railgrab.
While I am a big fan of the Flex, it is certainly not a competitor to a modern minivan. . . Minivans are far larger and are offer more space. Full Sized SUVs, such as the Expedition standard length, offer more width than minivans, but less usable cargo space and passenger space, as well as less desirable handling traits. People who do not use their bof suvs to the fullest are the ones looking at this, not the people that have been in much larger minivans. . .
quit talkin shit about the flex. if you will look at the price its not exactly cheap and if you can afford the flex then youre not really gonna be worrying about gas milage and the 3rd row seating folds down so that you can lay down and look threw the extra sun roofs. this car is by far better than any other look up some of the extra features you dick
This is not an alternative to a full sized SUV. It is an alternative to a minivan. You are clueless.
I have gotten more than 28 MPG w/ normal highway driving. A cargo box allows me to carry 7 and gear thanks to the Flex's side rails. Five or six bikes and five or six people? No problem. You can't put three (or more) bikes on the roof of the GM Lambda platform vehicles. Well done Ford.
