why is this so expensive ? you can buy a Prophet '08 for less... it's a cool interface to run their soft synths, should run about a grand with what looks like a nice keyboard, the sound is very thin and sterile, unlike the Arturia Laboratory that I have...very flexible, but just overpriced...
@ITCXTC What I like about hardware synths is the dedicated physical knobs (instead of turning virtual knobs with a mouse). And I like the "Frankensynth" options: Routing one synth's oscillator through another synth's filter etc. Whether that's worth the price tag? Hmmm...
Very Sweet but, how is a hot laptop running VSTs in Ableton controlled by a nice ($600) midi controller (my portable set-up) any different, other than the laptop setup is a shitload cheaper? Am I missing something this thing can do?
ugggh...yet ANOTHER full sized synth with an external PSU...what the hell is wrong with synth designers today? DSI does the same lame thing: power-strip space-hogs that inevitably get lost or beat-to-hell after 10+ gigs.
I didn't express myself correctly, sorry if I hurt your beautiful feelings.
What I'm saying is that synth makers should use analog circuitry in their products (mainly analog filters)...not just PURE digital DSP analog simulation. I became sensitive when it's about synth sounds so I too often hear "plasticity" coming from new synth due to serious lack of subharmonics (I owned more than 20 synths). I just feel sorry that it's so hard to develop rich sounding synths. Peace

@ITCXTC: Exactly. Very uninspiring, plastic sound here. I have free vst's that sound more interesting.
