Over 130 distinguished guests and representatives of The United Nations, NGOs, Civil Society and Religious and Spiritual Communities gathered for a luncheon reception at the UNICEF facilities near the United Nations Plaza on Thursday, January 8, 2009, for a luncheon. The luncheon featured the Rev. Dr. Bill Lesher, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions, who spoke about the importance of government, civil society and religious and spiritual communities coming together in cooperation to work collaboratively on issues of social concern to foster harmony and peace in our communities.
