unless you have a layer 3 switch.

If you have a gigabit switch and both computers support gigabit then the file will travel over the wire at gigabit speeds which is 1000Mbps or 125MB/s but most likely the hard drives in those computers wont be able to handle that speed so your actual speed will be as fast as your fastest hard drive.

I'm looking forward to the BS, I mean environmental bandwagon coming to a halt, and people buying products because they are good at what they are made for, not because they make 2 less carbon dioxide molecules a decade, or dissolve in rainwater. Suckers!

Lol this fool said RJ-6. Hellooo its RJ-45 connectors with CAT5E or CAT6 cables. CAT6 and CAT5E cables will produce the same result unless your running cable over long distances like 300+ feet.
