This tutorial gives and in-depth guide to making croissants. Upon request i may make a video of how to make the dough and then incorporate the butter block into the pastry. But the important thing is the folding shaping and baking of the croissants. Any question fell free to ask

  • I am going to make my very first almond croissant tonight and thanks to your video, I am just gonna follow every steps you did, hopefully it will turn out as success as yours!

  • @paupoopoo Oh awesome, i had an almond croissant lately and by gosh they taste incredible. Dont be disheartened immediately if they dont turn out, it took me a few shots to get them where they are now, but thats not to say that yours arent going to be magnificent!

All i can say is be patient, make sure you rest the dough enough allow it to proof, and when the dough is out of the fridge/freezer work fast, you dont want the butter in the layers to start melting.

Let me know how they go!!!

  • @zacl79 I am way behind schedule!!! I ended up watching so many cooking video clips on youtube! However, I started making almond paste just managed to blanched/grinded 2.5 cup of almonds and sliced a cup of blanched almonds for scattering on top of croissants! By far the best almond croissant I ever had is from Harrods Department Store in London; taste absoutely divine! I used to have it for breakfast nearly everyday!

Thanks for the 'pep talk', finger crossed!

  • @paupoopoo Good Luck!

  • I did it! They look and taste fantastic!

But I forgot to put the almond paste!!! So I scattered some sliced almonds and baked it anyway. Some says the final proofing before baking should rise double the size but my croissant hardly rise at all, so I was quite worried that the mission was going to fail.

I am going to try making your pizza dough next time! Thank you so much again!

  • @Magnolia4153 Hey thats really good to hear!!!! good on you!

  • @zacl79 I've tried it and it and it turned out great.

  • @Magnolia4153 im glad you have found out! good luck with them if your going to make them!

  • Wow, so cool. I never knew how they make it into that shape, but now I do. Thanks.

  • @magnoliazone6 Yeah, i was the same when i first made them, but read up on the internet that its pretty crucial otherwise the butter layer will melt, leaving you without the nice flakiness. Thanks you for your time stopping by, Good luck and Merry Christmas!
