In the jungle of Tanzania, Africa near the village of Igoda high school kids at Madisi Secondary school
have their first chance ever to actually select a library book, handle it, sit down and read it. Steve Vinton, a Christian missionary and his family are helping the poorest villagers in the remotest jungles to build secondary schools for their kids. He brought 83 books from the US to begin the first school library. Government schools can enroll only a small number of the kids who pass their final exams from primary school. The kids and their families haul the rock and water and make the bricks. The villagers literally build their own schools...Visit: villageschools.org
