The Northfield Township Food Pantry was started over 30 years ago to assist Township residents who, for various reasons, found it difficult to provide enough food for themselves and their families. In April 2003, the Pantry received its 501(c)(3) status and became an agency of the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The Pantrys continued hard work and commitment to assisting our neighbors in need has been recognized by the Greater Chicago Food Depository which awarded us its Pantry of the Year Award (2005), Quality Performance Award (2005, 2007), and Best Outreach Efforts Award (2006).
The Pantrys mission is simple: Hunger is Unacceptable in Our Community. Each month the Pantry provides groceries and grocery store certificates to over 360 families living in Northfield Township, which includes Glenview, Northbrook and part of Northfield. All Pantry clients have demonstrated financial need. The Pantry is supplied entirely by the community it serves.
