Historically singers and songwriters have been members of different tribes who by necessity have had to form pacts in order to, well, kick out the jams. The term singer-songwriter is a hybrid that yokes these two roles that are not typically held by the same person. One such singer-songwriter who marries these disciplines with aplomb is musician Bosco Delrey. In late April of this year the Garden State native released his debut full length Everybody Wah via Mad Decent / Downtown Records. The 13 songs, 48 and a bit minute record couples folksy acoustic guitar licks with MPC beats to create a composition that would be right at home as a Sun Studio session or Mad Decent Block Party set. Everybody Wah is set for even wider exposure with a European release via Cooperative Music on December 12. The other week Bosco Delrey visited the agency on Fifth Avenue to answer questions about the forthcoming European release and along the way discuss Beethoven, Elvis Presley, Caravaggio, and more.
