they are not!!! thats why all the roads are as straight and big as one can possibly imagine!! LOL!!
oh and nascar is really CRAP. but its actually hard to race in one of those. just try it on a realisitic simulator like GT5 and set everything to pro and no Traction/stab control. its hard. AND can u imagine the boredom going round n round????
