  • I love all the pretty colours....

  • As 'panedit' said, this was Ed Ladd. There was a difference between his voice and the more "gravelly" quality of Mr. Gregory's. Let's not also forget Lou Steele, who was with Ch. 5 since the mid-1950's, hosted "Creature Features" as "The Creep," and did a 7 P.M. "Did you hug your child today?" PSA in a 1983 clip. B.T.W., Mr. Ladd came to Ch. 5 around 1958 - three years after Mr. Gregory and Mr. Steele.

  • This looks like the logo on the TVs all around the Kowloon map in Black Ops

  • @noahf67 I was just going to post the same thing. I remember the Die Fledermaus promos airing right in the middle of my kid-post-christmas-blues!

  • Must have been the final week of '78, as Die Fledermaus usually was presented

around New Years Eve, if not on it.

  • I love the kaleidoscopic effect around the '5'.

  • That was Ed Ladd on that station promo.

  • Yes I did forget to mention Lou Steele! Thanx!

  • Thank you so much , because I was so confused as a 4yearold when I used to watch Cartoon Playtime in which,Ed Ladd,Fred Scott,Fred Hall, and Tom Gregory rotated hosting and all went by the name Uncle! I was confused more when the show went off the air and I tried to play name match with hosts when I would hear them do Public Service announcements and would not see their faces anymore!Great Info! Brings back memories!

  • The announcer here is Ed Ladd. As for Gregory, he remained a staff announcer until 1986, and did appear on camera earlier in his career, hosting cartoon and news programs on Channel 5.
