Rock Band 3 Fender Squier Tuning

Low to no cost tuning solution. I have found this app works well enough when compared to an electronic tuner that purchasing a tuner, although inexpensive, is not necessary.

This is simply one way to do it but if you feel you need a tuner, by all means go buy one.

Why don't people by the rock band pro mustang it's plastic but has notes and strings and you don't have to tune it i think this is waste of money cause if u learn to play guitar then u can buy real one

@thedepartedrules The Pro Mustang does not have strings, it has wires to strum. The lack of strings on the neck is a negative. Trying to apply the same technique of pressing the buttons on the Mustang Pro to a real guitar is going to be a dissapointment.

Are you having any trouble with needing to pluck the smallest two strings rather hard when playing Rock Band 3? I have the Mad Catz Midi Pro Adapter for Xbox 360. My difficulties seem intermittent, making it all the more frustrating. Any recommendations with how to deal with this? My larger strings seem to register just fine. I've tried different grade picks, and that seems to change things a little, but it's not enough to feel I've solved the problem.

@harrisagnar .. Adjust pickup, High E and B or both.

1. Put the mute bar down so its not engaging the strings.

2. Raise pickup on end near volume knob, or lower High E and B, until they are shy of touching the pickup when you fret them at fret 22.

That will have them far enough away so they do not hit the pickup in normal play but close enough to register when the mute bar is engaged. I did a combination on both for all my strings.

@rz22g Raising the pickup is what I needed to do; thanks for the advice. The way my guitar was put together, it looks like it was assembled at beer-thirty on a Friday afternoon. "Your Squier by Fender Stratocaster Guitar and Controller is factory-set and, under normal circumstances, shouldn't require adjustment" my a**.

@harrisagnar Mine was the same. The neck relief needed adjustment also. The adjust screw was completely loose, almost to the point of falling out, when I took it out of the box.

@harrisagnar got the same problem, rekon you culd make a demonstration video on this?

I used a cable into the micropohone input in my computer (integrated sound, no fancy sound card or anything like that). I used a 1/4" mono male to 1/8" mono female adapter (plugged into the guitar itself) with an 1/8" stereo patch cord. Even though the patch cord was stereo, it carried the mono signal just fine.

@harrisagnar .. Glad it worked out for you. Did you use a cable or the computer Mic ? I keep saying Im going to test it with the Mic but never get around to it.
