enough of an inspiration for me to change my 6505 to 6v6's. Great video!

I like the EL34s more - balzier

Sovtek with the 6V6 sounded really nice, I am very pleasantly surprised. I love the sovteks they are gritty and more marshallesque (crappier with less band width perhaps). The 6V6 is a lovely gutsy sound without the upper end sonic mayhem of an el84. Feeling better about having bought a 6V6 combo unheard on eBay last night. This playing is basically the style and sound I mostly live in.

There's a big difference between the Phillips and the RCA 12AX7's with the 6V6's. Is the Phillips inherently softer and less bright, or is the RCA just pushing the output more? Thanks.

Nice test. Thank you for not doing this test with that..what is it...Marshall kit? back there. Purity with less in the signal path really lets the characteristics of the tube come through.
