you will need:

1 cup sugar
1 cup Karo syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups rice krispes
butter/margrine
1 16-oz. pkg.choc. chips.
1 16-oz. pkg. butterscotch chips


Cook 1 cup sugar & 1 cup Karo syrup in 3 qt. saucepan over moderate heat until mixture begins to boil.
Remove from heat & stir in 1 cup peanut butter.
Mix in 6 cups rice krispes.
Press into buttered 13X9" pan
Let hardened.

Melt over hot water:
1 16-oz. pkg.choc. chips.
1 16-oz. pkg. butterscotch chips
Stir to blend; spread over Krispis mixture. Chill until top is firm. Cut into bars. Then enjoy!

  • @annamariechristine Its not a family secret :) you can find this recipe online too lol but my Nana made these for me every summer as a kid and I LOVE them :)

  • I do something similar and call them Special K bars (special K cereal and just regular chocolate chips- no butterscotch.). I also just melt my choc. chips in microwave stirring frequently. BIG TIME family favorite and so quick to make. I cool mine in fridge for quicker prep plus kids are always dying to munch!!

  • @jsweet83 you can use light or dark for this. I used dark but I know some people use light :)
