are you supposed to feel a tightness on your lower back when you do this?

yes the lower back is often the weakest link in the posterior chain (hams, glutes, back) targeted by the DL

thx but how much you bend your knees depends a lot on ones body type and proportions (ie arm and leg and trunk lengths) to get into the power position...some need to bend more than others to obtain optimal position
Are you're shins supposed to be, more or less, perpendicular to the floor (meaning they aren't supposed to lean over the bar)?
