That is very true, basic instincts are what keep the human being going, and yes i understand that, but that would be until you had built up a relationship with the other characters, however (obvoiusly) there will be the occational character trying to overthrow you and take your stuff, but that sorta thing has yet to be implemented.

isn't it about AVOIDING mental breakdowns/zombification/starvation/insanity/ i don't know, death in general as well as (when NPC interactions are added) helping others to survive

@TheParanoidHunter The human being is unpredictable. Would you trust the other characters on your way? All they might want is your gun, or your food. They might also want your help. Who know? On time like these, the human being is literally Programmed to keep it self alive at all cost. Instinct.
