The corruption in the Philippines is not just in the government, you can find corruption everywhere. Sad to say it is part of their lives. I used to work in a construction company, the corruption is like this.. a bidder will submit his bid and the engineer in-charge of the bidding, will discreetly have meetings to each bidder and whoever among bidders that will him give large money will get the tip on how much he should lower his bid to win. Maybe this is just a product of government corruption.

There is a big difference in politics in the Philippines with other countries... in the Philippines, a person who wants to run for power (whatever position, brgy, senate, congress) must use his/her own money for campaign... even if a politician is with a political party, he still must have money... when they win, here's what they do... even if they only spent little during campaign, they will get their money back thru corruption a hundred times of what they spent....

Poverty in the Philippines is going to stay as long as there are corrupt government officials that are like leeches that suck the blood of the Filipino people.

It's a shame for the nation of the Filipinos to be branded as the most corrupt country in Asia, but whether we like it or not, we're really way up there. It's the government officials themselves that have created this identity of the Phiippines, starting from Malacañang down to the lowest ranks in the barangays. May God have pity on us all!
