i believe that most of the metal heads that grew up from the late 80's through 90's are "influenced" (in one or another way) by nirvana, because it was just impossible to "scape" to such a big phenomenon they were, the Rock music in those years was changing a lot and if you hear their first album (bleach) it has a lot of "METAL" influence. I remember i read once that Kurt used to listen a lot to Celtic Frost on his early years.

Yup that's right buddy, cobain had a lot of metal influences he was an avid black sabbath fan and enjoyed a lot of thrash metal, regarding the Celtic Frost thing, it was actually a cassette that had Celtic Frost on one side and some other softer band on the other side (i don't remember which band if someone knows please let me know =p) and he like the contrast of quiet & loud sound, so this may had been part of his inspiration for the music he ended up making besides being inspired by the pixies

@rifleviejo de hecho en uno de los box set de nirvana existe un cover que hicieron a uleashed con la canción onward in to the contles battles, cambiando la letra y gritando meat, y la primera banda de cobain era de tributo a kiss, zepellin y sabbath ah y a la credence clearwater revival.
