I find you fascinating in your videos and I think you should consider doing an 18 minute TED talk.

@luvyouguys agreed! brilliant idea.

I really love to see smart people relate technology being used in a practical way! The way you demonstrated the damage caused by the Sumatra earthquakes was really amazing. It's too bad we can't calculate trigger points of pressure relief along the fault lines in the crust to provide ample warning.

@ahayes55555 This particular one is part of the demonstration programs for the Vrui VR toolkit, which you can download from my web page. Some of the others featured here and on the spelunkerucd channel are not yet publicly released, but will be soon. You can check the KeckCAVES wiki as well,

It would be interesting to see the dynamic 3d placement of earthquakes in conjuncture to gravity gradiometry data such as that provided by GOCE.
As far as my understanding of physics goes the increase in plate tension would create a small change in gravity.

@racedaemon I don't know enough earth science, but I think a similar project is going on in our department. The idea is to use another visualization application, based on the same principles as this one, to interactively manipulate a 3D model of subsurface density distributions until it matches observed gravity at the surface.
