  • Clay Cole passed away this Saturday 12/18/2010

I spoke to him Friday. We had a good conversation. I forgot what it was we were laughing about. We did that often.

When I heard the reports coming in, I could not believe it. I called Clay hoping he would answer the phone. Then I found out it was true.

I'm going to miss him. I already do.

Mr. Clay Cole, Thank you for being my friend.

  • I used to watch him late Saturday afternoons on WPIX TV in NY in the 60s. A class act all the way. R.I.P. Mr. Cole.

  • rip clay cole. i was shocked to read this morning that he had passed away over the weekend. i've been workng on a personal project about wpix, and always remember seeing his show saturday nights before chiller theatre came on. i happened to be looking at this clip a few weeks ago. he will be missed.

  • RIP Clay Cole.

  • I appeared with Clay in "Flower Drun Song" at the Gateway Playhouse, New York State.

He was a wonderful performer and a sweet and generous friend. He will be missed.

  • @MikeBlitzMag - Sadly, the news is correct. Clay apparently passed from a sudden heart attack. He was just weeks from his 73rd birthday (New Year's Day). Clay was one of the greats. Let's get him into the Rock Hall where he belongs! R.I.P. Clay.

  • At times like this I really, really hope I'm wrong. But as of yet unconfirmed news reports came in this morning (18th of December 2010) that Clay Cole had passed away suddenly at the age of 71. If that is the case, then that would be a major tragedy for rock and roll.
