Kirk Pacenti of Pacenti Cycle Design has been a long-time proponent of 29" wheels for mountain bikes, but he now believes that the "tweener" 650B is the MTB wheel size of the future. And he's putting his money where his mouth is. A Pacenti-designed and branded Panaracer-made 650B mountain tire is currently available. He even built Dirt Rag a 650B mountain bike to test the theory. In our video interview from Interbike 2007, Kirk explains the advantages of 650B, and tell us that a host of bicycle industry players, both large and small, are jumping on the 650B bandwagon.
I'm intrigued by this wheel size, I only wish there were more options for tires and forks. Iam on the fence between 650B and 29er. I am in the Northeast. A few years ago 29er was mixed bag ,now the naysayers are saying it's the only way..
