Why Me? Ch. 25 (Closer)

Kevins POV:

The car ride was silent as Brittany and I rode in my car. I headed to a restaurant. I was starved. At a red light I glanced over at Brittany. She was looking out the window not moving.
Brittany? I called her name. She didnt move. I sighed and then the light turned green. Off I was. We finally made it to IHOP and I got out of the car. Brittany trudged behind me. I felt my phone buzz wildly in my pocket. Caller ID said it was Mare. I answered,
Hello?
Kevin nick passed out you have to get to the ER now her voice was soft and scared, I think she was crying also.
Ok was all I said.
Do you have Britt with you? I looked over at Brittany she was looking at her feet.
Yes ill bring her. Bye. I hung up and walked to Brittany and explained the phone call. We got back into my car and headed to the hospital. Im still hungry.

Shelly POV:

We were in Joes care with Joe and I in the front with mare in the back. An ambulance was coming for us, but the hospital called us back saying we had to come on our own, because none were left. Our luck. Nick was lying in her lap unconscious. She was crying on his shirt. Lets hope thats water safe. I looked at Joe. His eyes didnt look away from the road, his expression was serious and concentrated. I grabbed his free hand and intertwined it with mine. He smiled and looked at me and squeezed my hand. A tingling sensation rushed through my body. Warm feeling, with no boundaries. The feeling then left as he let go to get out of the car. We where at the hospital. He picked up Nick and walked into the waiting room. There paramedics were waiting then they took nick off of Joe and rushed him into the back doors. He slumped into a chair and put his head into his hands. I sat next to him. Mare went off somewhere. I rubbed his back and whispered into his ear,
You want to call your parents? he didnt respond at first then he looked up at me, fresh tears on his face.
No, not till we find out whats wrong with Nick I nodded and hugged him tightly. He hugged me back and slowly cried again. I.. think I love him.

WHOA?!?!?! SHELLY LOVES HIM?!!? isnt it kinda early for tht?!?!?
