@goodoldrebel8 Thank you. Chairman Mao was a teacher but was forced to be the commander in chief by the history and KMT's onslaught. He left the economy to his successors. If Americans were sincere then they could talk to China to avoid Korean war altogether by fixing the 38 parallel lines without loss of a single American soldier. Chinese people respect or even warship Americans but they will fight if cornered, and the current talks of the war on China by USA is likely heading for another one.

@goodoldrebel8 The USA is a great country. The only thing is 10% of Americans owe 90% of American wealth which upsets me a bit. If all American are as rich as the top 10% then 2-3 earths are required to support just Americans. If all earth dwellers follow Americans then we need 5-6 earth to sustain us. So far we have only discovered one planet similar to our earth which is about 600 light years away. We have to allow alternative way of life, be caveman, be China man, be noisy man, be whatever.

Very true. I'm an atypical american in that I didn't buy into western propaganda against China. China's a great country & the KMT need to be held accountable for what they did. Dong Fong Hong Tai Yaouw Sun. Mao was a great fighter but a poor economist. If we had a more well thought out policy, we could have had a true ally in Mao & probably avoided the Korean and Vietnam war. Chiang kai Shek was just a self centered sneak who thought only about his own stomach.

@goodoldrebel8 Thanks for your comments. The KMT bandits gunned down all political prisoners in mainland shortly before they escaped to Taiwan. I personally know nobody of those brave young Chinese who were slaughtered but I always have a lump in my throat every time I read the stories about it. On the contrary, the CCP treated their enemies with respect and dignity, and many KMT soldiers and generals switched side and went on to become people's heroes fighting enemies of China.

Nanni Wan's still a great piece & reflects the true heart of China. Mao was a loyal ally in ww2 & kicked the japs off the mainland. The KMT were truly just savages. When Mao kicked them off the mainland, they murdered 10,000 Taiwanese & forced marshall law upon Taiwan. Chaing Kai Shek's son was sent to germany to be a full fledged nazi (from head to toe). Like in Vietnam, the USA supported the wrong government because we as a government were paranoid of the word 'communism'.

@evilccp CCP is not evil CCP's enemies are. In fact this alleged opium growth shows how clever the CCPs freedom fighters were. During that time the CCP is facing military attacks from KMT's troops who are mostly opium orientated gangsters under the posh cover of national force with one hand holding the opium gun and the other hand machine gun. What an excellent idea to disable them by selling them what they wanted opium so that CCPs freedom fighters can focus on fighting Japanese invaders.

@stewiegriffn The Chinese are getting better and better in terms of better living standards but there is a long way to go yet to improve "awful conditions". The bottom line is this: Chinese love China and they keep everything in China. Every Chinese wants China strong and prosperous and it is only possible with Chinese Communist Party. This government is the best for China for centuries please all take care not to lose it no matter what lofty west media distortion machine says otherwise.
