That said, this was a case of poor race control. Red flags were long overdue.

This always get shown at the Oulton Park marshals' cinema every January/February to remind ourselves the worst things that can happen in a race.

Shit marshaling, should ALWAYS be watching whats coming, especially when dealing with a incident in those conditions!!!

Exactly, slicks don't work in the rain at all, as I can attest. I believe though, that a Lister managed to make it through that corner unscathed, so it wasn't 100% impossible.

The race had started dry so were on slicks, then out of no were the heavens opened, the race was red flagged but because of the rain being so heavy the drivers didn't see the flags = what you seen the vid

Half the track was still bone dry. It was a sudden, and very violent downpour that caught most cars before they could pit for wet tyres even, let alone have the race aborted.
