  • I dunno if you know this but thats exactly how you make something called takoyaki. Its very common in like japan. Its basically a wheat ball with octopus in the middle. You can put in dried tempera batter, or dried baby shrimps, green seaweed... etc etc.. they're really good! =-D

  • @faylinameir yea! I love takoyaki! I bet the pan would work! I'll look into covering it soon.

  • Remember the chocolate ones from a few Valentine's Days ago?? Mmmm.....yummy.

  • @ETurnstyle yea! I put nutella in mine. That was pretty spectacular.

  • It's not a canolo, but I would still eat it.

  • Erhm we dont put apples in then in Denmark, they're called æbleskiver because of their shape.

ANd a good tip is to split the egg and then turn the whipped whites in to make them cook better!

And why does Ameicans make powder baking mix for everything??? It's so simple: sugar, flour, eggs, milk

  • @TheFridaQ Yeah these are soo good with icing sugar and jam. I made them first when I was in danemark, but the round shapes aren't easy to make (moreover I've got hands that shakes so it's definitly difficult). I never tasted them with apple but it must be great ...:)

  • @omgitsjulian Æbleskiver without a doubt :)

  • As a Dane I am very happy to see others enjoying this great tradition.

However I found it almost blasfemic that you would not eat them with icing sugar and jam - as is tradition.

Very few Danes actually make them with an apple inside anymore - that part of the tradition has slowly died out, and mostly lives on in the name (æbleskiver - apple slices).

Lastly, the whole viking thing . A fun myth, but total make believe. The first æbleskiver are traced back to around year 1300-1400.

  • omg.. looks sooo good...

  • Woop! That's epic. Loves me some Aebleskiver. Thanks Daniel!
