This is the Austar Cessna 152 with the MLD 28 engine. On board is a Sony 520L micro cam which is feeding through an on screen display board (OSD) before being transmitted to the ground and recorded on laptop remotely. On board is also a GPS which feeds the essential position data etc to the OSD. I got the OSD quite a while ago from the US and it works very well. One weird thing is that the display shows altitude in Meters and speed in Knots. It just what the GPS strings spit out.
The transmitter is a 1500mw unit which had its first run today with all this stuff soldered together and working. This is the resulting video quickly cut up and stuck together.
There is also a TME smoke system pumping MDW Aviation Smoke Oil directly into the exhaust and controlled via the transmitter on a spare channel. It has an on/off switch allocated on the trany as well a mix setup with the throttle. Effectively there is no smoke below 50% throttle.
