@neddynesbitt he was already 4 when he died because the Horse Racing thing does age differently with throughbred racing horses the 1st of every January the horses are all a year older and mares don't have foals in march usually its mostly in late january and early febuary.

Oh and if u think really hard you would also know that Big Brown the thoroughbred was retired in 2007 because he was ten and he was becoming a slow horse and he was lame.

Barbaro was definately one amazing thoroughbred....and yeah he loved to run it was not just in his blood it was in his heart. He truelly was a hero. Nice vid thanks for posting it <3

hey have u ever been to a ractrack do you kno how well race horses are looked after they run thats all they do till the age of up to 5 and then you retire them o and the whips dont hurt they just make a noise

you guys have no idea what actually happens behind the seens of a race track we do not take advantage of our horses and we are in the horse racing industry how the hell do you think grand prix jumping or anything like that is better then racing horses. race horses have the best life all they do is run and if they seem like they dont like it then you retire them and things like barbaro are just freak accidents .dont judge a book by its cover race horses have wonderful lives. whips-make noise

Michael Matz, Edgar Prado, and the Jackson's all just wanted Barbaro to live, Gretchen Jackson even said that they didn't care if he ever would be able to be a stud, they just wanted him to be healthy and happy.
