Shot on 16mm cine film by Geoff & Barbara Battersby in 1939, this rare colour footage of the Norfolk Broads follows the family on board the motor cruiser "Golden Eagle" which was hired from Leo Robinson's boatyard at Oulton Broad. It includes film of Johnson's stores and the Bell at St. Olaves, The River Bure at Horning including a top at H.T. Percival's boatyard, Salhouse Broad and Stokesby. Sadly, the film suffered from water damage over the years, but the colour has survived remarkably well. Uploaded to the Broadland Memories channel with the kind permission of Barry Battersby.

AMAZING! That must of cost a few quid to shoot in its day! Very well captured and very interesting.

Even with the water damage, the quality of the 16mm format shines through. Colour too. A very special find. Thanks all for sharing.
