  • Pat is full of shit

  • As a Buddhist, I should naturally find this offensive, but I don't, because after my own experience with deep Theravada Buddhism, this all doesn't matter. I feel sorry that Robertson surrounds himself with television cameras, suits, make up and "coca-cola" catch phrases on his religion.

  • @songwriter4artists How very comical. A chid trapped in a mans body.

  • Irresponsibility. Throw your sins on Jesus and you are fine. The root of scapegoating.

  • @songwriter4artists Yes I am very aware that Jesus (depending on your version of Christianity) is God in that system. I was simply pointing out where I had A) Not been fallacious, and B) Stating what Buddha himself stated. I do not to come off as hostile (sorry if I do, didn't mean to).

  • @MidnightSundowns Yes, I am also aware that the Patriarchs were before Christ, also Adam and Eve were before Christ, even the nation of Israel was before Christ, but what I want to ask you is this... Are you aware that Christ was with God in the beginning? And that even all the angels of God worship him??

  • @songwriter4artists Also, you do have a point that Christianity and Buddhism have many things in common, however you were not too clear on them. Could you just clarify? I am not mistaking or stating that you stated this, but, you are away that Buddhism came about hundreds of years before Christ, right?

  • @songwriter4artists Further... I have never understood how Jesus (who claims to be God himself) was condemned and persecuted. And please, for the sake of argument don't say it was, "for our sins" or "of that culture". I know this stuff, but if God himself couldn't stop us lowly humans, how can he be all powerful? Buddha died peacefully and even told the man who accidentally poisoned him that it wasn't his fault. Buddha never claimed to be a God, only the end of suffering and disappointment.

  • @songwriter4artists I am sorry but nothing I said was fallacious, and again you made a false dichotomy, by comparing only two worldviews and then stating (in your opinion) which one is correct. Buddha never claimed, ever, to have power (this is correct) however he clearly was Enlightened, and ONLY sought for the good of every Human. Jesus on the other hand was a good person (no doubt by me there), however if he were God, silly things like burning a fig tree wouldn't haven't happened.

  • @MidnightSundowns Your statement that I made a false dichotomy by comparing Buddha to Jesus is a fallacious argument, in view of the fact that Buddha's teachings have a form of Christianity and is similar to New Testament teaching in the bible, yet, is not Christianity but is attributed to Buddha himself, who was also himself--a sinner. Only God through Jesus has the power of sinful nature, and Jesus himself -power over demons. Buddha has no power. Jesus lived a perfect life and never sinned.

  • @songwriter4artists This is true to some degree, but you are using a false dichotomy, as there are plenty of Christians who left Christianity for Buddhism. Buddha simply taught the end of suffering, which every human can relate to, and wasn't damning in the slightest. You also are stating your argument such that, "it doesn't matter what you think, because Jesus is the only way, period". This is simply not true and you have no more knowledge than me on if it's true or not.

  • @MidnightSundowns Well, let's just say there's evidence that many Christians who were former Buddhists have left Buddhism for Christ. However, Buddha may be the light for Asia, but Jesus Christ is the light of the world. You choose.
