There is no trick... The Rotors are turning almost in time with the frame rate as the video is being shot at. Simple.

@b101aa2 please tell me you're dead or sterile now. You can't really be stupid enough to think that the tail rotor disengages can you?

"Crew chief directing his own bird because everybody else was tied up doing their jobs. heaven forbid the crew chiefs do something anyways!" We Crew Chiefs will remember that you need your precious helicopter fixed in the field. You'd be AMAZED at how fast your "I'M A PILOT" attitude will change when we find a way to GROUND your precious steed over an instrument light!!

@b101aa2 I was a crew cheif on rh-53d it is a camera thing.
the tail rotor will not stop to allow loading.
-
@b101aa2 this is the most rediculous statement i have ever heard. Being a plane captain on 53s I can tell you there is no way to "disengage the tail rotors" that makes no sense whatsoever. You are such an expert
-
if the rotors were moving, wouldnt you have prop blur??
-
plz tell me the name of the air base, because a chinese y-8 also be stand at a side
-
@Porkyboy71 I assume you mean during flight since I'm sure you already know they have the ability to fold all 7 blades back as well as open the tail end assembly (thus disengaging it) which allows for storage below deck of aircraft carriers and assorted hangers

@Davis0338 do you realize you just trolled to a comment all the way back to a year ago just to talk trash? rofl
-
@b101aa2 Do you realize that the main and tail rotor are internally connected hence they CANT be disengaged genius,, do make make comments about things you dont know.....
bet most people watching, don't even realize the tail rotors aren't even engaged, while the main rotors are purring away. love the safety feature of ch-53's. no chance of body parts flying around, when it's being loaded.

The back rodors where moving it was the camera that was making it do that! just thought you should know!

Is it an optical illusion or can the tail rotor actually be disengaged for loading? I crewed Cobra's and their tail rotors spun with the main.

It is an optical illusion....the tail rotors are moving but the setting on my camera just makes them seem like they are not.
