Benny, a young Asian Bull, was separated from his mother when he was a few months old, and trained to perform when he was a tiny baby. He was sold to Trunks & Humps, an infamous circus company in Texas, then, according to our records, Trunks & Humps sold him illegally to a Mexican circus. He was transported to Mexico to perform, but the Mexican Government seized him there and he was moved to Zacango Zoo, which is part of their protected area for captive wildlife.
@Maliakistro I knew Benny in a similar situation - one of the most incredible experiences of my life was getting to know him.

This is heartbreaking, just heartbreaking.

Zoos and circuses are inextricably linked- and both are not suitable for elephants! Both exploit them for profit and pose as "conservationists!" What a joke! Without sufficient space, their health is compromised drastically and they die prematurely! Poor Benny & Billy & Queenie & St. Louis 8 , etc.

I have known Benny since he was old enough to ALMOST fit through a man door. His young life was spent with MUCH LOVE at Renaissance Festivals. We bonded for years. I sold princes hats one year and he LOVED the gift of blue feathers and looking in my mirror. I miss Benny.
