When we buzz in the aperture tunnel we have a more resonant sound.

You have to relax and ALLOW the lips to vibrate.
Most players use their muscles to hold the buzz against the teeth and that makes us buzz on the firm outer tissue.
Relax and let the lips blow forward (the mouthpiece will hold them in place).
When blown forward the vibration is in the tunnel.

Some people ask if the vibrations stay in the same place through the range of the trumpet.
They should NOT.
The Low and mid registers should vibrate more between the lips and as you go higher the vibrations move to the front of the lips.
Some people hold the lips too tight and against the teeth all of the time. This extra tension shortens endurance, hurts tone and lessens range (you use the muscles before you need them and then have nothing to contract.)
