My "Pet" Scorpion...( From Africa )

I made this clip this afternoon of my Pet Scorpion. This lil critter comes all the way from the continent of Africa ! It's large, about 6-1/2" at present and is known as an Emporer Scorpion. He gets pretty big is my understanding. I was told that he is one of the largest Scorpions on the Earth. Not a deadly poisonous type. He rarely ever uses his Stinger. Predominately he uses his claws as he always moves in an opposite direction of his predators. The small red scorpions seem to have a more serious delima in their stings. Biologists at Oklahoma State University have lectured quite a bit about Scorpions of many different species. Even Oklahoma has some rather undesirable ones.

With regards to your pandirius, when they act agressive, they uusally feel threatened. Not a good idea to get stung by em. Ok? Gloves might work at first until she gets used to being picked up...and you show her you don't want to Eat her. lol.

With concerns about this scorpion's "Sting"...very rarely does he sting. His venom isn't like the much much smaller red scorpion found plentifully in Oklahoma. Other scorpions have been known to have a pretty nasty "Sting" just use Care and Caution with them all.

i wanna buy a scorpion so bad... couse i love predators, the only thing that stops me from buying one is becouse my parents wont let me... i mean i have lots of tanks from 250 L to 40 l , plastic tanks to but i dont rly have a heating lamp only aquarium light, i have lots of predator fishes... but to much water so i want something that doesnt require water changes, or tank cleaning so much, i have 4 piranhas that are allmost adults, very cool to look at, plz give me all info u know.

i had a scopion lolypop ones but i found out one of it's hears got stuck in my throut so i had to dring soda to brake the hear down to bits with the acid in the soda it hearts like f*c*e* h*l*. otherewize i had another one lol i does taste like chiken it has a good source of fiber to. i'm ganna set the secend recerd for 50 pozes in a glass room with about 1,000 brazillion yellow tail scorpions i hope it all goes well ^...^.

Nope, a sting from these guys is comparible to a bee sting at worst. If you allergic to it, however, you should seek medical attention. Luckily, emperor scorpions are much more likely to pinch than to sting (the pinch hurts plenty though, that's for sure).
