He is like a national celebrity "advisor", and only because the majority want it so. Would a "Dictator" begin creating 2,000 "Peoples Committe Halls" throughout a 4 mil +/- nation so they could decide their own affairs? They call it JAMAHIRIYA, best quality of life in Africa, resource based economy about to turn to gold standard w/ 144 Tons of gold, the great man made river project called the 8th wonder of the modern world (Where people are actually told about it), turning the desert green.

@jordan2104 I completely agree how ridiculous this "Bombing & Massacring for Democracy" is. Want to know something that will blow your mind and give you a real idea of how full of shit these people are? Libya has been a " Participatory Democracy" for decades, Gaddafi is an elected representative of the people and holds an honorary title, he's not a literal colonel, doesn't "control" the government, military, economy, politics, nothing. He stepped down from power ages ago.

Gadaffi wanted capitalism, because his Stalinist soviet allies were death. By 2003 he had no choice but to open his nation for western imperialism. The west loved Gadaffi, they sold him guns and planes. Weapons he is now using against his own people.
The people of Libya want freedom. They are fighting now for that freedom. Capitalism will not help Libya, it never will help anybody. A return to pre-1969 Libya is also not good. The Kingdom of Libya was a nation, ruled by a authoritarian king.
