WAM-V Adaptable Surface Water Vessel
http://www.wam-v.com/
Wave Adaptive Modular Vessel - is a new class of modularly designed ultralight flexible catamarans watercraft based on patented technology whereby the superstructure is flexibly connected to specially designed pontoons by using springs, shock absorbers and ball joint to lessen the stresses to structure, payload and crew. Those components that actually move in relation to one another to articulate the vessel and keep the propellers in the water at all times from the two engine pods, containing the propulsion and ancillary systems that are fastened to the hulls with special hinges.
The payload module being attached to the frames of the superstructure can be switched with different type depending on the requirements purpose as a travelling platform in less than an hour. In other words The WAM-V™ is a transforming vessel for different uses.
This design advantage of having low draft and soft hull allows operations in river deltas, shallow littoral waters and lagoons making it environmentally friendly.
Another design advantages are that the two engine pods are mechanically separate from the main hulls and can be switched to other pods with a different propulsion system interchangeable as well such as from diesel to gas, from propellers to jets and from inboard to outboards.
E/S Orcelle - Zero-emission Cargo Ship Technology
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/environment/orcelleGreenFlagship/index.jsp
Not only achieves a high optimise use of renewable source of energy to propel a large cargo ship but it also help to protect oceans and marine lives.
Made by Wallenius Wilhelmson, the E/S Orcelle is a Scandinavian ship that is 820 feet long (312 less than Queen Mary 2 (1132) and 143 less than QE2 (963ft), but more than three times the length of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet (232ft) or 14 soccer fields with a capacity to carry up 10,000 cars.
Its powered by the sun, wind and waves to eliminate combustion fuel hence no pollution into the air and sea.
The three giant, rigid solar panel covered cell fins, sails that uses the winds to help propel the ship which also collect wind kinetic power. At same time it collects solar energy and undercarriage wave energy is harnessed by 12 dolphin-like fins on the ship's hull. Once energy is converted to electricity it will be combined with hydrogen and stored in fuel cells. Its cruising speed conservatively will be at 15 knots.
Another advantage is to eliminate unnecessary weight (in tons) of the ballast carrier tank and its water that give more to power and weight ratio. The stability will be by the pentamaran hull - a slim monohull that will have two smaller support hulls, known as sponsons, on each side.
FastShip Incorporated System Rapid Logistic Cargo Shipping Management
http://www.fastshipatlantic.com/
A family of innovative patented technologies and approaches that together makeup the FastShip system.
Quote from their website: 'Ultimate goal is to be able to manufacture products to customer order rather than forecasting demand for several months. The obvious benefits are in the marketplace (satisfying and retaining the customer) and in transformed business economics (reduction in inventory investment, inventory obsolescence, capital requirements, and a corresponding improvement in return on equity).'
This is possible with the FastShip system service that is comparable to airfreight at half the cost by using the evolving advance technology of ship design, propulsion systems, cargo handling, information technology and terminal operations all combine in a synergy.
The rapid time-definite value system will economise the way storages and transportations of goods in international commerce. As reduction to market costs and further optimise capital usage; reduction of resources wastage and optimise use for the business whereby products are manufacture straight to sales shelves as well as real time ordering maximum efficiency (making perishable and consumer goods more sales life).
This system will be incorporated base around the operations with the TG-770 FastShip that will revolution freight transportation.
If these three systems ever integrated together on a scale, well have one very nice exciting and optimistic future to live on. They would be able to demonstrate how technologies can propel through synergy of sciences and design innovations that nevertheless create exponential advancement for the betterment of mankind and even humanity. Some ideas such as ocean dwelling capabilities; cheaper access to transportations from continent to continent; vital rapid and efficient distribution of prosperity and other commerce expansions. They will be able to also initiate free energy avocations, conservation of oceans and waterways and lessen the human impact within the shipping industry.
Cheers
