If this is really supposed to be a provokation for Muslims, well, sorry, you´ll have to try harder. But it would be more useful for the world at large -- atheists and non-atheists alike -- if you´d put your talents into something like building schools or feeding the poor (go help the non-muslims, whoever, I don´t care). I´d really hope you have something else to do with your time.

This was not meant to be a provocation, but simply a pointed difference between cultures. Now, you have no idea what I do or don't do, but have jumped to conclusions that are simply wrong. My record of doing public good needs no defending. As for help, it's amazing that the incredible wealth of the Saudis (the centre of Islam) is not spread throughout the Islamic world. If I do have a phobia it would be of any fundamentalists, whether Islamic or Christian or even atheists. I have nothing but contempt for those who choose not to think.

Muslim is not a race.

There is nothing racist in making any negative assertion(s) about Islam or about Muslims.

rubicon: I´m sorry to hear about this. What happened is very wrong. It has NO place in Islam. A father has NO such power or rights, and such acts are abhorred by educated Muslims around the globe. But there are still bad people everywhere, whether they call themselves Muslim, Christian, Jew, atheist, whatever. I lived in Bahrain and UAE for about 4 years. I got issues with Islam, cause of the hypocrisy I see, Peace and love and all that. HA they're just as bad as the Christians the pretend are so evil. I feel for a girl with a Saudi Father and Turkish mother, but though I was friends with them, and I never asked her to convert or do anything against her beliefs, I was evil, her Dad Tried to kill me, and ritualistically "honour Kill" her too, I see what Good moslems do, no thanks.

But if you really want to challenge your prejudices, go walk into a mosque. Say hi. Ask for a tour. Have a java with the imam. Or visit during open-house day. I don't hate ISlam, but keep telling yourself covering your head and face in shame (cause covering it doesn't just suggest, but screams out that it's something that isn't holy) and so you will be stuck in the prison of your own creation, cause free peoples have self control, and decency. Islam treats women like property, and whores, cause they insist that they must be covered up unless they're being used for sex.
