It does say very clearly on the ADJ website that the player only supports to SD cards up to 4GB.

I have 16gb SDHC card with more than 999 tracks split across different folders. Anyone tried 32gb?
-
@gy4dj How can I find out what version firmware I have on mine?
-
My manual states it wont accept HC cards yet my SDJ-1's have HC logos on front. I'm using Sandisk 2GB, Transcend, PNY and Maxstore 4GB non HC cards and regularly have the following problems. 1 - it doesnt always register the cards are inserted and can be all too time consuming to track up and 2 - during a live gig, the audio jogs forward, whilst the display suggests it hasnt moved. The only way I can stop it is to power down the unit for it to do it again later! Please can someone Help

I have the sdj1. When I bought my first couple of years ago. I soon found that although the logo sd-hc was on the machine it didn't play 'em. So upon receiving my complaint the shop updated my software to 18.21 then it did play 'em.
Just yesterday a mate of mine told me he'd bought a sdj1 with the software updated (naturally) to 20.22. Maybe I should tell him the cards that can be used by far exceed what I told him mine did. Geoff - gy4dbd@gmail.com
D'you know how to update software

Thanks I just ordered a sdj-1

@AMAEntertainment01 It will not work as the SDJ-1 lists the TOTAL tracks, even if you put them into folders, although you can look for them two ways, by folders, or directly by track number it will only accept 999 tracks that to be honest are a lot of tracks for such a compact solution, you can use two SD cards at the same time so it's 999 x 2 and then if you really need to you can even swap cards, to be honest its more than enough, if you want more use a computer controller and a laptop.

Here is an idea? try to put 999 tracks into two or three folders.... to use all the 8G or 16G/ Let me know if it works. I looking to buy a SDJ1.

Hi, WS - I'm a dealer for ADJ and can tell you there's no better company in the industry who takes care of their customers. From their web site:
Please note: Current SDJ1 models support High Capacity SD Cards (SDHC) and Standard SD Cards. Users that own SDJ1 model that only supports standard SD cards can upgrade their unit to support High Capacity SD Cards (SDHC). Please contact the American Audio Service Department to find out how to upgrade your unit: serviceatamericandjdotcom

I agree 100% with your comments on the support from ADJ. Its great to see that the dealer network are proud to shout that fact out as well. It can only add to the confidence for customers when looking at the brand for product.
Thanks for you comments.

wickedsounz, I have a question... just got my sdj1 today...love it.. anyways.. have you tried to put the files in folders and break them up into sections instead of just loading 999 in one file? i dont have a big enough card to try it yet.. give it a try and see what happens and let us all know if you could?..thanks . oh by the way i have the same unit as you have.. practice and enjoy..

I have the files in folders, it's designed to work that way. That is why there is the folder button on the unit.
You can still only load a maximum of 999 tracks.
If I get the time, I will put a video together to explain how the folder system works in practice, along with a few other tips.
Cheers,
Paul.
