A shroud of mystery surrounds the palatial home where Maina Njenga has been staying since he left jail two days ago. Njenga says he did not spend any of his own money in putting up the house that stands on a 20-acre piece of land. The compound is teeming with livestock and various types of crops. NTVs Harith Salim reports on the latest twist in Maina Njengas enigmatic life.

  • You did a good job with this, Thank you very much

  • leaders of g8 build the house ---wakikuyu!

  • @RNdannu: If it were possible to charge Maina, as head of Mungiki, for the crimes allegedly committed; and the country's legal system is allowed to investigate & follow the evidence wherever it leads to, then I am all for it. However, you and I know that Kenya is notorious for the impunity with which its leaders & those well connected act. Why target Maina when those that allegedly financed his actions are not being held to account? Why do you think our leaders are terrified of Ocampo of the ICC

  • @Woud1Kano, I think there is something you're quite either not understanding or you're being ignorant to. My Point is, Maina should face the Justice and accept the responsibility of his bad and illegal behavior. When someone commits a crime he or she should be held responsible and accountable for that, no matter who they are? Do you agree with me on that? Whats wrong with Maina being send back to Jail for his crimes??? Tell me. Or What is your Point?

Can somebody else come and coment on this?

  • @RNdanuu: I hear you & fully understand your sentiment. Let me say that I can't respond to your hypothetical question. I also know that as a country, we need to forgive & move forward. This is a sentiment from one whose uncle was assassinated in Kenya! I find it extremely hypocritical that people are baying for Maina's head while those that rob the country are being chauffered around. If some good can come from reconciling Maina back into the society; along with his fellow Mungikites...why not??

  • You see this is Kenya, a country which glorifies thugs and the innocent but poor suffer in the hands of the justice system, look at this dude his so called youth alliance has butchered people the other one was cleared and even had the chance to vie for a parliamentary seat

  • Woud1Kano, Do You have Family?....Im What many would call a successful business man, If today I Kill your FAMILY, How would you feel, and What would be your expectation from the Justice System?Would you simply forgive me because I am a successful Business man, with 87 employees? Would you? As a proud Kenyan, I can assure you one thing, Maina was deeply involved in Mugiki killings. Maina is a Murder, He's supposed to be serving his time in Prison, Are you seeing my point?

  • ati leaders of the world why doesnt he name them those are just our socalled mheshimiwas who funded him am just wonderin for how long?

  • Leadership in Kenya is very backward. why are Kenyans so blind? Maina the leader of mungiki has been on payroll from the goverment, uhuru kenyatta, njenga karume among others.he is not a changed man BUT part of the deal they made was that he doesnt disclose names of powerful figures and he will be set free and if he is to stay alive and free, he needs to transform the gang mungiki and show them other methods of income like farming. dont be fooled! he is evil like the rest of the government

  • what you are seeing the blood and swet of many innocent kenyans who died for no reason. the guy is evil. i see some people in here supporting these guy, why? is it okay to kill and take away peoples property? when did that become the norm?, you cannot try to justify what these cartoon has done. his hands are full of innocent blood. where in the world can you build a house like that when you don't have a job or a source of income? it is pathetic that most kenyans think like chickens.
