Clips from the Blake Edwards thriller starring Glenn Ford, Lee Remick, Stefanie Powers and Ross Martin set to Henry Mancini's mod atmospheric score. Kelly Sherwood (Remick) is a beautiful young bank teller who lives in San Fransisco with her teenage sister Toby (Powers). One night, Kelly is accosted and threatened by menacing asthmatic killer "Red" Lynch (Martin), who tries to coerce her into stealing money from her bank. If she doesn't do what he wants, he'll kill her and her sister. Desperate, Kelly turns to FBI agent John Ripley (Ford) and he and his fellow agents set up a trap with Kelly as bait, in an effort to trap the evil criminal. But will their plan succeed, or will Kelly and Toby be Lynch's latest "experiment in terror"?

This is a great film, but not one that I'd recommend you watch home alone at night!

Enjoy!

  • @RasMajnouni - Yes, everything you said is true. I'm not certain, but I think the comedy you recall may have been Mr Ed -- in that one episode Eastwood played himself. You are also right, sometimes you want to see John Wayne be John Wayne. The few times he was not, he was not good. The Conquerer is an example. Clark Gable, played an Irish aristocrat in a film & that bombed. I always felt the "best" actors were the character actors. They seem to be able to become "other" people convincingly.

  • @lastrada52 Everything you just wrote is 100% correct.John Wayne played John Wayne & Clint Eastwood played himself.I saw Clint Eastwood as a child in "Rawhide" of the 1950's.On youtube I saw him in a 1965(?) surrealistic comedy. Its the same man. What I meant was an actor who can fulfill multi-roles like the actress who was 25 personalities in 1 person.I Liked knowing hat Clint would be Clint, but mostly I stay away from recurring roles.Nice points you made!

  • @RasMajnouni - I don't think Jack is one dimensional, he's a very intense actor & has played a variety of roles -- not all crazy, or as misfits. If you saw Ross Martin's brilliant performance in the original film Jack just came to mind as a possible perfect choice. However, Mickey Rourke could do it. Ras, if Jack & Bruce were truly 1-dimensional -- what accounts for their longevity & success? Maybe 1-dimensional is a good thing -- John Wayne & Clint Eastwood made careers of it.

  • @lastrada52 It seems that you've been corralled into the notion that Jack Nicholson can only play misfits with a pention for violence and nasty sarcasm & nothing else.Otherwise why cast him as that role.Well I'd agree. He's always been a 1 dimensional actor maybe a grade above Bruce Dern as a weird nasty.

  • I'm convinced that when Ross Martin -- disguised as an old woman -- came into that ladies room to terrorize Lee Remick that was what casting people remembered and cast him in The Wild Wild West. With that asmatic breathing this role is as intense as Hannibal Lecter. If they remake this - picture Robert D'Niro as Glenn Ford & Jack Nicholson as Ross Martin's Red Lynch. Diane Lane would be excellent in the Lee Remick role. Overall, one of the best thrillers and villains ever. Ending is classic.

  • Wonderful score of the great Mancini.
