This, along with the theme from " Shane" was one of the most haunting film themes from my childhood. I think the opening theme was sung by Tennessee Ernie Ford, but one source suggests that Robert Mitchum himself might have sung it. The scenery is wonderful. Marilyn is delectable. Randal ( child of the 1950's)

When I was a high school student , I saw the movie in which Monroe sang this song. It made me inspire to study English. I used to sing this song over and over.

I love it to, and was just a little kid when the movie came out. I have seen it so many times on TV and never tire of it or this wonderful song. The kid in the movie later went on to play the kid in the TV Show Lassie.
