Sweet The Sting is a song from Tori Amos' Beekeeper album. Unfortunately, the Hammond & Gospel choir weren't available for this impromptu Aural Elixir Piano Ninja filming. Neither were a hairbrush, microphone or lipstick. Have you seen the size of ninja issue purses? They're freakin' tiny!

Here are Tori Amos' lyrics to Sweet The Sting (minus bridge, I apologize to both the bridge & her fans, she just doesn't always come when called)

With a strut into the room
With his hat cocked sure defiantly
He said "I, I have heard
That you can play the way I like it to be played."
I said, "I can play, anyway that you want.
But first I want, I want to know

Baby is it sweet sweet
Sweet the sting
Is it real this infusion
Can it heal where others before have failed?
If so then somebody
Shake shake shake me sane
'cause I am inching ever closer to the tip of this scorpion's tail"

He said "I laid my weapons
down with my pistol
Fully loaded, a hunted man
To my root, will it end
Or begin in your cinnabar juice?"

Is it sweet sweet
Sweet the sting
Is it real this infusion
Can it heal where others before have failed?
If so then somebody
Shake shake shake me sane
'cause I am inching ever closer to the tip of this scorpion's tail"

Thanks for watching!

  • the piano reminds me of carol kings "i feel the earth move."

  • @moonstruckcontessa Thanks, she's awesome!

  • This is a very good cover :) I love your voice and your playing.

  • @thomascornelis92 Thank you, your kindness is truly appreciated.

  • yeah you rocked this song!

  • If a song rocks alone in a room and no one is there to hear it, does it still rock? Or is it only "rocking" because you were here to listen? Either way, thanks for listening!

  • Aw, shucks! Have you tried turning the volume down? Thanks for sharing your comments and concerns.

  • umm... you play nicely, and sing nicely, but you're not in tune with your piano...

  • :D Mmmm, why thank you, flattery will get you everywhere! The first version I heard was live on the Jay Leno Show & I fell in love! I agree about the studio version.

I'm delighted you enjoyed my adaptation. Thanks for taking time to share your comment! Sparkly Happy New Year Wishes to you!

  • That was absolutely tremendous!! Gr8 version of this song. I always think this song is better live than on the studio version. You are so talented!!! btw, this song also suits your voice perfectly. Thanks for posting.
