DJ Pain 1, most notable for his work with Goddes and She, shows how to create a basic sample-based hip-hop beat with Sony ACID. Also included is a brief tutorial of drum programming, i/o, external hardware integration and a corny explosion effect (it's his first video).

  • Thanks for the tutorial man.. I just need to ask..whats the use of the keyboard? If everything can be done in the program itself, then wouldn't a keyboard just mean spending extra money?

I'm surely going to use sony acid for my music work. And if a keyboard is actually helpful, I'm surely going to get one. If you could reply to this, I'll really appreciate it. And thanks..

  • @TheNineOone Because in the time it takes to program a single chord using just the program, I could play an entire 8 bar piano part by using the keyboard.

  • Great tutorial! I just recently purchased Sony Acid Music Studio 8 and this is the very first music software I've ever purchased and you did a fantastic job of explaining the controls to me; much better than the 'how to' context tutorial did. Heh.

It's a shame for me to say that I have no other source of external music production, (Like your keyboard, record player, and such), but I'll try my best!

Thank you for this guide. :)

  • @immeyouhe Best of luck. Glad I could help.

  • @TheDjhavikk I agree, it's the workflow that makes this program stand out from others.
