  • I remember catching this on BET years ago

It's so awesome how Tain Watts did his own thing with this

He is a monstor in his own wright

Yet Brian Blades, for me, is still the ultimate

  • I think this live number was the very first time I actually stopped and listened to Kenny do his thing on the alto (back when they used to air this performance on BET on Jazz). Never forgot about him after that and wound up buying at least 4 of his albums, including Triology which had this groovin' track. Still prefer this live version though. Kenny really stretches out here!!!

  • SOOOOO GROOOVVVYYY!!!!

  • @JazzBluesClassical42 no problem man!

  • @vpsaxman thanks bro. i figured pent minor would do it. :D youre the best!

  • @JazzBluesClassical42 But yeah, Em penta will get you started if you stay aware of the fact that there are actually 3 chords in the tune Em, C and B7 and you adapt it to fit the chords (especially the B7).

  • @GrooveWorshipper Yeah Blade is more musical in the sense that he plays more like a musician than a drummer.

  • @JazzBluesClassical42 You can play whatever the fuck you want man. It's not about scales, it's about music.

  • he is singing

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THE SCALE TO SOLO IN ON THIS. I THINK IT'S PENTATONIC MINOR BUT AM NOT SURE..... PLEASE! FOR ME. i'llbeyourbestfriend... thanks.

  • I was lucky enough to be in the audience at this show. I also saw Kenny outside Paris with Miles in 91. Consistently Killin!!
