Avatar cast

Alot of Avatar fans are disappointed at the casting of Avatar the movie (myself included). I felt like doing a little experiment and use only East Asians for the casting (actually everyone in the video is Chinese), and see how it goes.

This video's aim is NOT to suggest the shown actors/actresses for the roles, BUT to suggest to the directors that there IS people out there who looks like the characters from the series AND could act.

I realize that I do not know ALL the actor/actressses names. But again this video is not to suggest them at all, I am just suggesting that the directors could drop their current cast and recruit new ones.

Even if the setting is Asia, The characters still look american! I can't believe they casted an Indian dude as Zukko! What a joke!

But I totally agree with you about the Zuko part. I mean, come on! I hope the director isn't serious, cause I laughed my pants off at the photos of Dev Patel as Zuko (no offense to his fans).

Yep, I don't remember seeing any Caucasians in the show ..

I am not racist or anything (it's hard to talk about something with race involved), but you get my point. It just ruins the show ..

I agree with most of them, although I'd mix up the different types of Asians xDD

They all look good though :DD the boy for Aang looked especially good.....the fans have a better eye for casting, it seems xD

Haha initially I wanted to mix up some Asians too! But then I thought, hey, Chinese people are diverse enough (no racial) XD So I focused on Chinese people.

I am sure they are more look alikes in other ethnicities aswell!

everyone but katara and sokka are good, b/c they're supposed to be inuit. Zuko and Ty Lee are EPIC wins.

IMHO i think that the real counterparts for the four nations are:

fire nation - japan

earth kingdom - china

waterbenders - eschimoses (people from kamchatka, alaska and groenland)

air nomads - tibetans

sunwarriors - mayans/aztecs

swamp waterbenders - vietnamese (or the whole area of indo-china and indonesia)

yeah, most of them are asians, except for the sunwarriors which make me conclude that there is place not only for asians cultures to represent one or another element... don't forget: IMHO
